Frequently Asked Questions
Will you deliver the cake?
Yes! I will deliver, stack and decorate your cake so that you don’t have to do anything except cut and enjoy it! Phew, right?!
Where are you based?
I am based in the historic market town of Wimborne Minster, East Dorset. Delivery to Dorset & West Hampshire is included in the cost, however we can also deliver to East Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire for an additional fee.
Do you offer cakes that are dairy free / nut free / gluten free?
I don’t like leaving anyone without Cake! However I do not recommend ordering from me if you or a guest suffers from severe allergies as I work in a kitchen that handles wheat, dairy and nuts. Please note that I do not specialise in vegan cakes.
Will the cake flavour / buttercream flavour I choose affect the look of my cake?
There are a few cake/buttercream flavours on the list that will change the design of your cake. For example you may not want to choose a chocolate cake with a semi-naked finish.
How do I know if my date is available?
Please use the contact form to check if your wedding date is still available. I currently have some limited spaces for 2023, and plenty of space left for 2024.
Can I have more than one flavour for my cake?
Of course! If for example you are having a three tier cake, you can have three different flavours.
Do you provide cake stands?
I stock a small selection of cake stands that can be hired for the display of your cake.
Can I arrange a tasting afternoon before placing an order?
Absolutely! I offer a tasting and design session for two people for £40. This can be arranged using the contact form.
What flavours are available?
I have a tasty list of flavours for you to choose from. Head over to the Flavours page to see the delicious selection.
Can I reserve a date for my cake?
I ask for a non refundable deposit of £150 to secure your date. The remainder of the balance is required to be paid 30 days before the big day!
Can my florist decorate my cake?
Unfortunately I am the only person who can setup your cake. The decoration of the cake is just as important as the taste!
What do you do to support sustainability?
I am a big believer in shop local, and have some fantastic local suppliers for everything from milk, eggs and fruit to flowers and decorations.
I make jams and curds when the fruits are in season and available on my doorstep, it’s not only best for the environment to avoid flying fruits like raspberries but I don’t think you can beat English summer fruits! I buy organic ingredients wherever they are available and generally believe that the better quality the ingredients, the tastier the bake.
I deliver my cakes and collect from my suppliers by electric car, and all of the electricity I use baking and charging is from a carbon neutral supplier. I now also own a share in a wind turbine based in Scotland, doing my bit to look after the planet whilst unashamedly cranking up the oven!
